Things To Do On Phuket

One of the nicest parts of Thailand to visit is Phuket Island. There are so many things to do on Phuket Island that it will take you a couple of weeks to experience everything. This is probably the main reason why so many people who holiday on this island choose visit Phuket every year.

Your activities will depend on what you like to do on your holiday. For those who like a relaxing, laid back holiday, you can visit one of the many pristine beaches on the island and spend the day soaking up the sun. Going Out In Phuket Island

There is so much to do in Phuket Island that it will be difficult for you to cram everything into your holiday time. Most likely, you will be planning your trip to Phuket Island for the next year prior to leaving as most people who visit this part of the world try to make it an annual event.

When going out in Phuket island, you will probably want some transportation. You can rent a tuk tuk, which is a taxi cab, or take the bus. Phuket Island is a relatively safe holiday destination and is probably much safer than large cities in the West. Phuket Island is one of the most popular travel destinations of Thailand. One of the main reasons why so many tourists visit  each year is because it has some of the finest beaches in all of Asia. If you love beach holidays then you should definitely consider visiting this magnificent island on vacation.

Phuket has a large number of beautiful white sandy beaches and most of these amazing beaches are located on the west coast of the island. Nai Harn Beach

Nai Harn beach is my favorite beach on on the island and many expats prefer to spend their free days at this spectacular beach. There are only a few resorts at Nai Harn beach which is why you won’t feel crowded at this beach. There are however a number of great little seafood restaurants at this destination and prices are generally very affordable. If you are looking for activities then you will also be happy at this excellent beach as there is a number of water sport companies located at this beautiful location on the island.

Surin Beach

Another very popular Phuket beach among the expat population is Surin beach which is located between Laguna and Kamala bay. This long white sandy beach is also home to some of the finest seafood restaurants of the island. This wonderful location generally only gets a bit crowded during the high season. There are a few resorts located in the Surin area however this area of the island is generally better known for its high end real estate projects.

Patong Beach

Patong beach is one of the most crowded beaches however many travelers certainly seem to prefer this. You will never get bored at this location as there are plenty of  vendors, massage ladies and water sport companies offering you jet skiing, water skiing and parasailing. If you enjoy shopping then please note that there are plenty of shops and boutiques which line the main road of Patong.

Kata Beach

One of the most popular beaches is most certainly Kata which is located just south of Patong. Kata is one of the longest beaches of Phuket so you can enjoy up to a certain level of privacy when spending the day at Kata. The water of the Andaman Sea is generally very calm during the tourist high season. During the low season there are some waves and during this period of the year you will find local surfers hanging out at this wonderful location.

Phuket Weather

Most of the people who travel to Phuket Island, Thailand, visit during the months between November through March. This is known as the “high” season of tourism. During this time, it is quite warm and humid. The temperatures in the high season are very hot and average around 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

Phuket weather is tropical weather. During the high season, it often rains in the afternoons and cools everything off. The rain during the non-monsoon season is short lived and does not stop any activities. Most of natives of Phuket are used to the rain as they live through the monsoon season every year.

The hot and tropical weather makes Phuket an ideal place to visit when you want to get away from the cold. People who live in parts of Western Europe and North America experience extremely cold temperatures from November through March, which is when it is the hottest in Phuket.

From late May to November, the Phuket weather gets a bit cooler, which is about 88 degrees Fahrenheit, on the average. Visiting Phuket during this time of the year can be very pleasant as the cooler temperatures make sightseeing a little more enjoyable. The incessant rain does not stop any of the activities on the island as it is seen as cooling. During the month of May, it will rain on the average of 25 days throughout the month. After this, however, it does not rain as often, although you can still count on getting rain if you visit Phuket during the monsoon season.

The best months to visit Phuket are June through August. During this time, there are short storms, but the temperatures are not as high as they are during September through November. Some tourists prefer to visit Phuket during the monsoon season because the hotels generally offer special discounts as do most of the shops. If you are seeking to travel to Phuket on a budget, the time to go is from May to November.

The Phuket weather is always hot, to those who are used to a variety of temperatures. It rarely dips below 80 degrees Fahrenheit, which, to some in the West, is very hot weather. It rains often, but more during the monsoon season. The tropical climate adds to the foliage of the area and allows certain plants and fruits to grow in this climate.

The only thing that you cannot do during the monsoon season is swim off the West beaches. This is because there are strong currents at this time

of the year. Other than that, the monsoon season rarely affects any trips or pleasure activities. For most people, traveling to Phuket during the monsoon season can be more pleasant when it comes to Phuket weather, than traveling in the high season when it is so very hot all of the time.

When packing for your trip to Phuket Island, Thailand, remember to bring light clothing and swimming costumes as well as plenty of sun block. The Phuket weather is guaranteed to be hot and will most likely be sunny during most of your holiday.
